Windows registry problems can wreak havoc on your PC.
Often there is no sign that anything is wrong. The sad fact is, with your Windows registry full of errors and problems your computer is probably running much slower than it is able to, and you don’t even realize it!
Some of the noticeable issues that can show when your PC has registry problems are the infamous blue-screen-of-death (even in Windows Vista this has happened to me); then there is the crazy freezing (working away on your PC and suddenly it stops operating for seconds, minutes or until you un-plug it); restarting for no reason (I know, I should have saved my work more often); application and driver conflicts and errors; strange errors that arise for no particular reason; and of course, speed (Windows startup times, application startup times, operation time, even shut down time).
You can download a Windows registry fix, but this only solves half of the problem. Doing the registry fix now will solve the immediate sluggish problems on your PC (and possibly other issues, like errors and freezes), but it won’t prevent the errors from coming back.
To get the best performance possible out of your PC it is good form to scan the PC registry on a regular basis to ensure problems aren’t forming there. So, the best practice is clean the Windows registry and then perform regular scan checks (as you install and un-install applications problems will regularly crop up in the registry).
You can check your registry for problems for free. Just download this free scan by clicking here (the scan works with all versions of Windows and is Vista certified).
